.:Little Miss Hallie:.

(This is just a sneak peek from Hallie's newborn photo shoot from Saturday...
Isn't it amazing? Many more to come!)

Hallie has been having some struggles lately. Last Sunday just after feeding her she spit up and started choking, turned red and stopped breathing for what seemed like forever but was just a few minutes. We were starting to head for the ER when she coughed up some more spit up and was able to breath normally again. Then just last Thursday it happened again, only this time it was much worse. I was feeding her around 11:30pm, she spit up again, turned red, stopped breathing and this time her face went from red to blue. We immediately dialed 911 and they started to walk us through mouth to mouth and CPR. Soon enough the paramedics came. Luckily they are pretty close to our house. They decided it would be best to take her in the ambulance to the ER to have her checked. After a couple of hours of monitoring her oxygen level and an XRAY of her lungs we were sent home. We followed up with our pediatrician the next day, who recommended putting her on a monitor at night that will constantly keep track of her oxygen and heart rate. It will alarm us if there is anything out of the ordinary. Also, we have started to give her Prevacid which should help reduce the pain she feels from the stomach acid when she spits up. The last couple of days have been a little better. It has just been hard for us to be on edge every time she needs to be fed, afraid it will happen again...
I cannot describe the feeling of seeing her that way, unable to breathe, and not knowing how to help her. She is the most content baby and never complains, so it is really hard to see her struggle.
During these experiences, Hallie has had several Priesthood blessings and my testimony of the Power of the Priesthood has been strengthened. I am so thankful for Jeff and the ability he has to perform these blessings. The last few days have been SO much better. We haven't had any more of these incidents and I feel like our prayers have been answered. Both Jeff and I have felt a huge weight lifted and we feel like the medicine is working well and that everything will be ok. We are still super cautious, but relieved that it hasn't happened again for a few days.

she is so adorable! I'm so sorry you're going through all this scary stuff! My two month old niece was actually doing the exact same thing and after seeing a lot of doctors an ENT was finally able to diagnose her with Lorengomalasia, which is a bunch of extra floppy tissue that grew in her throat. So the tissue was flapping closed causing her to choke, but they were able to fix it with a simple surgery. Who knows, maybe Hallie's could be similar? Sorry to ramble, I just hope you figure it out! Thinking of you!
